Featured Funeral: Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thompson spent his life as a journalist and author until his death in 2005. His last request was that his body be cremated and his ashes be shot from a cannon. There were also multi-color fireworks accompanying the ashes shot from the cannon. The private funeral had around 280 guests. Thompson’s close friend, Johnny Depp, is said to have funded the funeral, as this type of memorial can be expensive.
