Lourenzy and his wife, Margaret, had discussed his funeral before his death at age 62, so Cosey’s funeral was a pre-planned arrangement to reflect his passions. Lourenzy’s favorite thing to do during life was host neighborhood cookouts, so the couple had planned a final cookout to honor Lourenzy’s passing. The funeral was held at a funeral home, but the room had a background of a cookout, a cooler with pop and iced tea, jazz music playing and a buffet for guests.
